E-Bücher von Brill, die mit uneingeschränktem Zugang über das Uninetz als PDF verfügbar sind, können teilweise als Abrufbuch (print on demand) bestellt werden. Brill nennt es MyBook. Man kann sich also auf Wunsch ein Exemplar drucken und liefern lassen – für nur 25€!! Teilweise bedeutet das 83% Rabatt und mehr im Vergleich zur gebundenen Ausgabe.
Allerdings ist es schwierig herauszufinden, welche Titel dazugehören. Auf dem Internetauftritt von Brill kann man zwar unzählige Werke finden, doch welche gehören dazu? Man findet sie nur, wenn man akribisch via Uninetz (z. B. mit VPN) sucht. Außerhalb des Uninetzes sieht man nicht, welche Werke zugänglich sind und welche für MyBook freigeschaltet sind. Um bestellen zu können muss man sich außerdem ein Konto auf der Brill-Seite erstellen.
Über den Katalog Plus der Universität Tübingen (via VPN) habe ich einige islamwissenschaftliche Werke gefunden, die man sich für diesen sensationellen Preis bestellen kann und habe sie in der (bibliographisch mangelhaften) Liste unten gesammelt. Für mich habe ich sofort Wanslebens Reisebericht bestellt.
